It may come as a shock to some of you, but there are advantages of being still every once and a while. As athletes we are always running, or cycling, or swimming. When we are not doing those things we are thinking about them, talking about them, or buying things to help us do them. How many times do we just run or ride by something that was really more important than what we are doing? A few weeks ago I was at Jefferson Memorial Forest filming some of the trail for a video when it started snowing. As I paid more attention to what was going on around me and less to what I was there for the more amazed I became. It was the perfect snow. Not in that blanket of pure white kind of way, but in a single snowflake kind of way. Here are a few photos. Note these where taken with the camera function on a cheap video camera, and do not do the scene justice. Many of you think the world is just the result of coincidence. Things like this have got to make you stop and wonder. The sunlight reflected off each snowflake as they fell.
Perfect! What else can be said. My angel, Cynthia, ran off and left me on this outing. She is not good at being still. It all worked out OK. I found this angel and Cynthia came back and found me. |
